Dear Ms. Greene:
Thank you for bringing in the awning sample for the above-referenced project. We
reviewed Dickson Elberton, Diklon 32, yellow/white stripe, pattern 1012, page 51.
Although the yellow stripes appear a bit bright, it is understood that the distance from the
road and the quick fading of the material will soften the impact. The proposed awning is
approved. You may consider this letter your Certificate of Appropriateness.
Approval received from the Albemarle County Architectural Review Board is predicated
on the fact that the design and materials, as proposed and exhibited for review, will be
used. The acceptance of approval implies that the applicant has agreed to use the
materials as indicated on the site plan, attachments, and samples submitted. Any
change in the approved design or materials will require an amendment to the plan and
must be reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board.

RE: SDP 01-034 the Shops at Forest Lakes Final Site Plan
Tentative Submittal (Revised 5/21/01)
Based on my review of the latest revisions to the above-mentioned site plan, and the revised
traffic generation summary that was submitted on May 16, 2001, the Department of Planning and
Community Development will accept the final site plan for signatures, once all of the following
comments have been addressed satisfactorily:
1. The site plan shall be subject to Architectural Review Board issuance of a Certificate of
Appropriateness. This includes addressing the comments provided to Clay Greene of the
Kessler Group by the Design Planner, Margaret Pickart, on June 1st.
2. Once tentative approvals have been granted by all of the remaining reviewing agencies
that are responsible for the site plan,please submit the following items for final approval:
a. Two sealed and signed mylar copies.
b. Final site plan application.
c. Fee of$325.00

information.
