RE: Centel Towers proposed at Camp Holiday Trails and Carter's Mountain
Dear Mr. Gibson,
I have distributed the plans submitted for review for the location of two towers. Each plan
requires additional information.
The proposed site plan for the tower located at Camp Holiday Trails may be approved with the
following revisions:
1. Note that the maximum tower height is 150 feet;
2. Note that the site has been issued SP 94-26;
3. Add a note in accord with SP 94-26 which states "The tower shall be designed such that
in the event of structural failure, the tower and components will remain within the lease
area";
4. Note that the site is zoned RA, Rural Areas;
5. Note that VA 94-12 has been granted;
6. Note the source of topography;
7. Note the source of survey;
8. Provide signature blocks for the following departments: Planning, Zoning,
Engineering, Inspections;

9. Attach a copy of the Albemarle County Engineering (ACE) standard notes for site plans;
10. Approval is subject to ACE approval of Erosion Control Plan;
11. Revise grading to ensure that all constructed slopes are 2H:1 V or flatter;
12. Obtain a certificate of appropriateness from the Architectural Review Board.
The site plan for the Carter's Mountain site may be approved with the following revisions: •
1. Add a note in accord with SP 94-37 which states "The tower shall be designed such that
in the event of structural failure, the tower and components will remain within the lease
area";
2. Indicated proposed grading, ditches and parking area;
3. Note datum and benchmark reference;
4. Note that the site is zoned RA, Rural Areas;
5. Note that SP-94-37 has been granted;
6. Note the source of topography;
7. Note the source of survey;
8. Provide signature blocks for the following departments: Planning, Zoning, Engineering,
Inspections;
9. Attach a copy of the Albemarle County Engineering (ACE) standard notes for site plans;
10. Approval is subject to ACE approval of Erosion Control Plan;
11. Note that the maximum tower height is 200 feet.
With the above items these plans may be approved. Please feel free to call me with any
questions you may have.
