Re: Boar's Head Resort narrative for a special exception to waive or modify noise ordinance 18-4 18 04
The Chris Long Foundation (CLF) has planned a board meeting and celebrity event at the Boar's Head
Resort from April 24 — 26, 2022, with the primary goal of raising money for its charitable causes.
One of the CLF's missions is to bring together a community of elite athletes and passionate fans to
create clean water and education access solutions. The Waterboy's is a signature initiative of the CLF
and is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for clean water for communities in East Africa. Bringing
together NFL players, their fans, corporate sponsors, and other charitable organizations works to fund
sustainable clean water wells.
In addition to a board meeting, The CLF has planned a celebrity golf tournament, a Live and Silent
auction, and a musical performance located at the resort. The specific location of the musical event is
noted on the attached map and has been used by the resort on multiple occasions during holiday
weekends. The band, stage, and speakers will all be facing away from the neighborhood and point in the
direction of the resort. The CLF and the group putting on the event are aware of the surrounding
community and have done their best to mitigate any noise issue with the coordination of the sound
production. They will also be reaching out to the neighboring community. The music is planned to run
from 8 pm to 10 pm on Monday, April 25, 2022.
The group operating the event has held similar events within similar neighborhoods and never had an
issue with surrounding neighbors. Below are references from two of these locations:
Denny Hamlin Foundation (Denny Hamlin/NASCAR): Denny & Mark's Pro Am Jam
Rick Russell, DHF CEO, rick@prosportmanaaement.com
Notes: Similar concert takes place on a Monday night in October from 9pm—10:59pm. Country Club
community with homes in proximity to concert stage.
Why Not You Foundation (Russell Wilson/NFL): Russell Wilson Celebrity Invitational
Carly Young, WNYF Executive Director, cyoung@whvnotvoufdn.com
Notes: Similar concert takes place on a Monday night in June from 9pm—10:59pm. Resort community
with homes and condominiums in proximity to concert stage
Based on the above, we would like a modification/waiver of noise ordinance 18-4.18.04.
