C appears to be suitable for bsur ace drain `ields. These findings are based on soil studies either made by me or made by a soil scientist, under my supervision. The lot sizes are such that there appears to be enough area to install the required amount of drainfield for an average si.rc building, plus an alternate drainfield within the building site. If thiQ property is in the Run-Off Control area, then it will comply to all standard of the Run-Off Control Ordinance. However, each lot will be evaluated on its own merit, and further tests may be required at the t1n tie septic permit is applied for. The purpose of the study was to determine the suitability of the soils on each lot for the disposal of sewage by means of a septic tank/drain- field system. The investigation has consisted of drilling a series of hand auger holes -n each lot to determine soil profiles. A log of each hole is shown on the enclosed individual soil profile sheers along with a sketch showing the approximate hole locations. The holes have been flagged with orange ribbon for future reference. Soils in the areas investigated are residual having been formed from the underlying granite gneiss of the Lovingston Formation. The typical soil profile col_si sts of about 6 inches of topsoil beneath which there is a layer of red micaceous clay loam of variable thickness. The clay loam layer is underlain by micaceous sandy clay, micaceous loam and/or micaceous sandy loam which, in turn, grade vertically into the underlying bedrock. • We recommend that drainfield lines be placed in the micaceous sandy clay loam, micaceous loam and micaceous sandy loam as percolation tests run on similar soils in the area have yielder_`. percolation rates that meet the current "ealth Department regulations. Potential drainfield sites are shown on the enclosed soil profile sheets. We understand that the lots will be served with public water. We hope this is the information you need.
