The Department of Transportation, Charlottesville Residency Transportation and Land Use
Section has reviewed the Borderline - Road Plans, dated February 21, 2022 as submitted by
Shimp Engineering and find the following:
1. Please show the cross drain locations on both the plan and profile pages as noted on
sheet C-1
2. Please provide profile detail for culvert pipe Cl-C2
3. DI-1 inlet in the cul-de-sac should be located so the future extension of the road will
not require adjustment to the SWM system.
4. Has the existing pipe under Rte. 29 SBL been inspected and verified for adequacy?
5. Provide drainage calculations to include off -site structures/systems to the East side of
Rte. 29 NBL R/W.
6. Please show the mail boxes & cluster box units per RDM Appendix B(1)-56
7. Note that the final plan must show conformance with the VDOT Road Design
Manual Appendices B(1) and F, as well as any other applicable standards, regulations
or other requirements.
8. Please provide a comment response letter with each submission after the initial.
A VDOT Land Use Permit will be required prior to any work within the right-of-way. The
owner/developer must contact the VDOT Charlottesville Residency Land Use Section at (434)
422-9399 for information pertaining to this process.
