We offer the following responses (shown in bold) to your comments. Internal Comments 1. Bioretention basin maintenance — relocate 10-foot back line of fence (highlighted) close to center of basin for ease of maintenance. Response: The gate has been relocated; refer to sheet C3.0. 2. Consider using additional shrubs or native wildflower and grass plugs instead of mulch for groundcover on bioretention area to reduce weeding maintenance Response: Additional shrubs and plugs were added to the bioretention. 3. Consider specifying that all shrubs and trees be from Virginia or Mid -Atlantic stock Response: A note has been added to L1.0. 4. For maintenance provide 3-6 foot buffer between fence and tree buffer area Response: The exterior tree buffer has been moved to 5' off the fence. 5. Consider spacing for buffer area to decrease weed maintenance Response: The average spacing of the trees in the buffer will be 10'-20'. 6. Consider replacing the 3 Acer rubrum with Quercus ssp appropriate for site conditions which provide better biodiversity. Consider replacing Virginia pine and shrubs for bioretention floor. Attached is recommended trees and shrubs for bioretention Response: The bioretention plantings have been replaced with plants from the recommended list provided. 8. Verify soil pH requirements shown are for plant and landscape plant list for the proposed plan (11.1 Soil note 1.13) Response: Note 1.13 on L1.1 has been reviewed and appears to be in general compliance with the species selected. 9. If Synthetic fertilizers are used they need to comply with the County's Safer Chemical Policy (L.1.1 Soil note 2.6) Response: Note 2.13 on L1.1 has revised to include reference to the County's Safer Chemical Policy.
