A Zoning Clearance is verification from Albemarle County that a proposed use, whether it is a new business or other activity (see Zoning definition of "Use"), satisfies all requirements of the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance and ensures public health and safety. A Zoning Clearance Application is reviewed by the Zoning Department, Building Inspections Department, as well as any other applicable departments or agencies. A Zoning Clearance is Required in the Following Circumstances • Opening a new business • Changing or expanding an existing business • Buying an existing business • Moving a business to a new location or changing its name • Before natural resource extraction • Any uses listed in Section 5 of the Albemarle County Zoning Ordinance as requiring a Zoning Clearance Items Required to Apply for a Zoning Clearance Before filling out a Zoning Clearance Application ensure you have or have done the following: ❑ Tax Map and Parcel number or Address of the property. Include suite/unit/floor number, if applicable. ❑ Description of the proposed business/use. Include any and all relevant information such as a description of the business, the number of employees, number of shifts, availability of parking, etc. ❑ A Floor Plan. A sketch or an architectural drawing of the total square footage of the use. If using less than the entire structure, note the location within the structure. Note the square footage of and use of each room. ❑ Provide notice to the owner if the applicant is not the owner. Within ten days of applying for a zoning clearance, the applicant, if they are not the owner of the parcel and/or structure, shall inform the owner that they have applied for a Zoning Clearance. Charlottesville, VA 22902 Dear Mr. Bradshaw: Attached is the Zoning Clearance Application for the Charlottesville Catholic School 21" Annual All Terrain 5k Run/Walk to be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Charlottesville Catholic School is a 501(c) (3) non-profit educational organization. All contributions to this event arc tax- deductible to the fullest extent of the law and any proceeds from the event benefit the school. Approximately 2.50 people of all ages participate in the event which begins and ends at CCS, located at 1205 Pen Park Rd. On -site registration is available beginning at 7:00 a.m. and the run kicks oll' at 8:00 a.m. On -site registration and water tables will be set up on the school property only. The nm route begins at the school parking lot, turning right on to the right-ol-way of Pen Park Road and then another immediate right on to park property. A certified flag person will be stationed where the Charlottesville Catholic School driveway intersects with Pen Park Road. Runners then proceed to the cart path of Meadowcreek Golf Course. All runners are off the cart path in less than 30 minutes, or before 8:30 a.m. I have spoken to the manager of Meadowcreek Golf Course, and received his permission for use of the course. From the cart path, runners move to the Nature Trail drat encircles part of the golf course. Emerging onto the park parking lot road, past the tennis courts to Pen Park Road. A certified flag person will be positioned at the intersection of die parking lot road and Pen Park Road. Runners will cross Pen Park Road at this intersection and finish die race on the rgghl-ol-way of Pen Park Road back to the Charlottesville Catholic School driveway. The time for runners and walkers to complete the run circuit ranged from 20-54 minutes last year. The post run activities are finished by 10 a.m. Please see the map included in the permit applications. The run route is marked with flags and traffic cones that arc provided from the Charlottesville Track Club are placed along the run route to direct runners, provide water and to clean-up any articles and garbage left along the event routes. The volunteers are divided into groups by task assignment. Each group is managed by a volunteer coordinator. All coordinators and volunteers are given verbal and written instructions.
