Brewer 214 Brentwood Road Charlottesville, Virginia Re: Board of Supervisors Action - ZTA-76-06 Y5P-40-76 Dear Mr. Brewer: This is to advise you that the Albemarle Co~~ty Board of Supervisors at its meeting July 21, 1976, approved the amendment of the Statement of Intent, Article 4, Residential Limited (R-l) zone of the Zoning Ordinance to read: This district is composed of certain quiet, low density residential areas plus certain open areas where similar residential development appears likely to occur. The regulations for this district are designed to stabilize and protect the essential characteristics of the district, to promote and encourage a suitable environment for family life where there are children, and to prohibit all activities of a conunercial nature. To these ends" development is limited to relatively low concentration and permitted uses are limited basically to single unit dwellings providing homes for the residents plus certain additional uses, such as schools, parks, churches, and certain public facilities that serve the residents of the district.No maintaining of poultry or livestock are permitted in this district, except that pleasure horses and ponies may be permitted with a special use permj The Board also amended Article 4, Residential Limited (R-I) Zone of the Zoning Ordinance to include new Section 4-1-15, Home Occupation-Class A, as a "use by right." ~h~ Board of Supervisors accepted your request for withdrawal without prejudice of SP-40-76.
