This letter is to notify you as adjoining property owners to property owned by HOWE D. WHITMAN,
TRUSTEE OF THE HOWE D. WHITMAN, JR. FAMILY TRUST that an appeal application has been
submitted. The application is as follows:

SUBJECT PROPERTY: PARCEL ID: 00900-00-00-024D0.
LOCATION: The Property is located at 1202 Simmons Gap Road (State Route 663), east of State
Route 603 (Plunkett Road) and south of the Lynch River.
MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT: White Hall
ZONING: Rural Areas (RA)
OVERLAY DISTRICT: Steep Slopes and Flood Hazard Overlay
APPEAL: The Appellant is appealing the Zoning Administrator's official determination that in order to
meet the requirements for a Homestay Zoning Clearance, the Property must be held by a natural
person residing on the Property or a family trust whose beneficiary resides on the Property.
The Board of Zoning Appeals will hold an electronic meeting on Tuesday. February 1, 2022 at 2:00 P.M.
This meeting is being held pursuant to and in compliance with Ordinance No. 20-A(16), An
Ordinance to Ensure the Continuity of Government During the COVID-19 Disaster. The opportunities
for the public to access and participate in the electronic meeting are posted on the Albemarle County
website on the Board of Zoning Appeals home paw and on the Albemarle County calendar.
Participation will include the opportunity to comment on those matters for which comments from the
public will be received.
