First, there appears to be some issues with what you are proposing to be used as a Bed and Breakfast. According to what you submitted you are proposing to use the accessory structure on the property for the bed and breakfast. The issue here is that there are no approved building permits on file that show any of the renovations in this accessory structure. Our system currently shows this structure as a "farm building." We will not be able to move forward on this application until you have submitted the appropriate building permits and have received a Certificate of Occupancy for the building. Existing farm buildings do not have certificates of occupancy and I cannot approve a bed and breakfast in a structure that does not have one. Additionally, after you obtain a CO you will need Building, Fire, and Department of Health approvals. In order for me to approve your application, I would need you to complete the following: 1) Building Inspection Contact: Keith Huckstep, khuckste@albemarle.ora, 434-296-5832 ext. 3241 2) Fire Marshal Inspection Contact: Shawn Maddox, smaddox@albemarle.ora 434-296-5833 3) Virginia Department of Health Determination of No Inspection Needed/Inspection Contact: Eric Meyers, Eric.Myers(@vdh.virainia.aov, (434) 972-6219 You have attached a Department of Health approval for the house at 1005 Vineyard Path Rd, but I will need to see an approval associated with the accessory structure. I would also like to inform you that the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors is considering a Zoning Text Amendment that may impact your pending application. If your application is approved prior to August 7, 2019, your use may continue under the current regulations with no changes. If your application is not completed and approved by the date the Board adopts new regulations, your use may be required to follow new regulations. For updates on this Zoning Text Amendment, visit the Albemarle County Homestays website. So, in conclusion, we cannot move forward on this Bed and Breakfast application until you have submitted the proper building permits and received a Certificate of Occupancy for the structure.
