This letter is to notify you as adjoining property owners to property owned by the CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF
RICHMOND, WALTER F SULLIVAN, BISHOP ETAL that a special use permit application has been submitted.
The application is as follows:
SP2022-00016 Charlottesville Catholic School Electric Message Sign (Sign#68 & 69) - CATHOLIC DIOCESE
OF RICHMOND, WALTER F SULLIVAN, BISHOP ETAL (owner/applicant): Application for a special use
permit for an electric message sign (County Code 4 18-4.15.7 d) at the Charlottesville Catholic School on Pen
Park Road (Rte. 768). The proposed electric message sign would replace the existing changeable message
sign and be the same size as the current sign (6 ft X 4 ft). Property entrance is located at 1205 Pen Park
Road about 900 feet east of the intersection with Rio Road (Rte. 631). The property is identified as Parcel
061A0-00-00-02900, zoned Residential, R-4, and is located in the Rio Magisterial District.
The Board of Zoning Appeals will hold an electronic meeting on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 2:00 P.M.
This meeting is being held pursuant to and in compliance with Ordinance No. 20-A(16), An Ordinance to
Ensure the Continuity of Government During the COVID-19 Disaster. Opportunities for the public to access
and participate in the public hearing will be posted at https://www.albemarle.org/community/county-
calendar. Participation will include the opportunity to comment on those matters for which comments from
the public will be received.
Comments for public hearing items can be submitted by email to BoardofZoningAppeals@albemarle org or by
