The Department of Transportation, Charlottesville Residency Transportation and
Land Use Section, has reviewed the above referenced HTC Area C Townhomes
Block II — Road Plan, as submitted by Shimp Engineering, dated July 5, 2022 and
find the following:
1. Existing CG-12 handicap ramps shown within the right of way on Berkmar
Drive (Rte. 1403) should be redesigned/reconstructed to direct pedestrians
across entrances and not into the travelway. No mid -block crossing has
been warranted. Please see VDOT R&B Standards Revised December 2021

2. Existing unlabeled bike ramp on Timberwood Blvd. should be corrected to
match the other bike ramps in this development.
3. Please remove existing trees within 30' of intersections per B(1)-44 RDM.
