Under § 17-902 of the Albemarle County Code, you are hereby notified to immediately cease
all land disturbing activities on the above referenced property except for work to address
any necessary corrections as given in writing by the County Erosion Control Inspector. This
Stop Work Order is being issued because of the following deficiencies:
Deficiency: E&S measures installed but not maintained
Corrective Action: Remove sediment from SB1 stone outlet
protection and reinstall
Deficiency: Stormwater channel straw and seeded
Corrective Action: Repair erosion on outlet side of Fire Rd and
install stone checks and restabilize
Deficiency: Sediment trap weir extended
Corrective Action: ST weir has been extended
Deficiency: Stabilization applied
Corrective Action: Seed and straw mulch has been applied on
denuded areas
Deficiency: Install slope drain inlet/outlet protection on SB1
Corrective Action: Install stone inlet/outlet protection for slope
drains on SB1
Deficiency: Sediment released off site. Remove accumulated
sediment from discharge and seed and mulch areas of
disturbance. Remove sediment from stream.
Corrective Action: Remove sediment released off site utilizing
buckets and shovels from stream off outlet on Fire Rd and on
adjacent property of SB1.
A sworn complaint has been made by the Albemarle County Erosion Control Inspector below. This
STOP WORK ORDER shall remain in effect for seven (7) days. If satisfactory repairs have not
been made within seven (7) days, the County may elect to issue another Stop Work Order, and/or
petition the Circuit Court for penalties and relief with regard to this violation.
Reinspections as a result of this notice to verify corrective measures will incur a $170 fee for
the first reinspection and $270 for each subsequent reinspection for single-family dwelling
units (§ 17-207). Reinspections as a result of this notice to verify corrective measures will
incur a $283 fee for the first reinspection and $383 for each subsequent reinspection for
VESCP and VSMP permits (§ 17-207 and § 17-208). A 4% technology fee is due with each
payment.

Comments: A reinspection performed on 8/29/22 observed stabilization applied on denuded
areas and rock checks, stone protection installed on Fire Road SB. Regrading
eroding ditchlines and more straw & seed required. Correction to the ST weir has
been applied. Remove sediment discharged from stone outlet protection on SB1
onto neighboring property, no sediment observed entering the stream from SB1, and
remove all sediment discharged into the stream from outlet of SB on Fire rd. A Stop
Work Order has been reissued requiring the completion of remaining corrective
actions listed. A reinspection date will be set for 9/12/22
