The proposed minor amendments are meant to enhance the surrounding area on
a site that does not have any neighbors, on Afton Mountain and has previously
enjoyed a rather high level of commercial activity for several generations since
1949, but unfortunately had been an abandoned eye -sore for the past 20 years.
I have provided a couple of historic images which reflect the previous importance
of this site to the community.
Minor Changes
B. Reroof structures to the slate gray as existing. See historic postcard of
structure, Stucco to be painted Angus Gray, Doors to be painted salute Red,
Trim to be painted white.
C. Replace rotten deck and stairs, relocated 2nd egress door to top landing,
structural lumber, pressure treated pine painted white. Releeat ...,...aRL- tank
to part riele of rt.ruetu.re.
D. Relocate skylights to north side of stone structure, for energy efficiency.
E. Install wood gate 50" wide by 72" tall with wrought iron hardware in the
alleyway between the existing commercial building and staircase. Gate will be
painted an earthy brownish gray to blend with rock work. (per email 1/24/22)

The Mystic Mountain Talkhouse site consists of three existing buildings (one to
the west and two to the east). Improvements to the west building include
a dormer and skylights to the south side of building and a patio to the north
linking the top floor exits. A dumpster enclosure will be located to the south
side of the east buildings.
