While ALDI's iconic entry architectural features continue to be utilized, Hollymead Town Center's predominant architectural features are as well, providing continuity and form the major components for the enhanced ALDI exterior design. 1. The iconic ALDI entry has been modified to include a clerestory feature and metal roof similar to those utilized in other parts of the center. 2. A strong masonry base of textured CMU anchors the façade, while a midline brick body field is broken in each facade by pilasters of similar design found in the center with decorative brick insets, each protruding several inches proud in order to provide depth and shadow lines. The building is banded by a continuous and deep cornice feature, similar as found elsewhere within the shopping center. 3. The Rt. 29 facade is broken by clerestory windows above and framing the logo signage. Each end of the façade is bookended with smaller but similar elements that turn the building corner and begin the framing of the adjacent façade. A tower feature of similar design to the store entry has been added to provide balance and height, as well as framing the Town Center Drive entryway in concert with the existing Bank across the way. 4. The depressed delivery area shields (both vertically and horizontally) delivery vehicles as well as trash enclosures, utilizing a masonry screen wall of the same design profiles as the building. 5. Exterior lighting fixtures will be down lights and in compliance with ordinances. 6. The proposed design will utilize masonry that matches the center's color, type, and texture. 7. Landscaping is proposed to be essentially as was prior approved, per revised landscape plans provided.
