Baker Senior Planner Attachments: Letter of Request & Application Revised Site Plan August 2, 2022 MEMORANDUM To: Mr. Ethan Busching Zoning Permit Planner County of Albemarle, Virginia From: Mr. Eric Woolley, PE Woolley Engineering Regarding: The Covenant School: Letter of Revision #1 to SDP201900006 Letter of Revision Narrative This Letter of Revision plan proposes improvements to the courtyard area at The Covenant School which is located at 175 Hickory Street. This plan proposes to add a depressed courtyard between the two existing sidewalks which will contain a concrete bench and new electrical outlets. The new paths, stairs, and depressed courtyard will display a bluestone material and the bench will have a wood slat finish. Optional landscaping is also proposed with this letter of revision and is shown on the layout inset on sheet C2.0. The existing sidewalks in the courtyard area are proposed to remain Three of the existing drop inlet structures located in the courtyard area are proposed to be adjusted. The fourth existing drop inlet structure will be removed and replaced with this proposal. These four drop inlets will be retrofitted with new lids and an accessible frame and cover. These four structures will not be visible from the surface and will serve as junctions for the existing and proposed new stormwater conveyance piping. This plan proposes to add 10 new yard drains and 1 new trench drain to the renovated courtyard area. Stormwater from the project will be conveyed through existing and proposed yard drains to the existing stormwater bioretention area. The existing bioretention area was sized to accept additional impervious surface at the time of construction and is grandfathered under stormwater regulations from Part 11C. The impervious surface tabulations are shown in the stormwater management tabulation chart.
