HomeMy WebLinkAboutACSA200100002 Correspondence 2001-10-01 David Benish From: Charlotte Humphris Sent: Tuesday, October 02, 2001 1:19 PM To: David Benish Cc: Wayne Cilimberg; Tom Foley; Bob Tucker; Larry Davis Subject: Item 7.4, Consent Agenda, Oct. 3, 2001: Water Service to Tax Map 45, Parcel 15 David -The information I will need is not addressed specifically in the Executive Summary in re: amending the ACSA Jurisdictional Area Boundary for water service to the Jeff Saine parcel on Hydraulic Road. "Very limited opportunities"to locate a new well on the property does tell me that the possibility of drilling a new well has been found to be impossible. Requesting " . . .further information . . .specifically the potential for upgrading the existing well."does not address the possibility of a new well either. The soil consultant's letter does not specifically address the question at hand either. That possibility, of drilling a new well, will have to be clearly determined before I can support this request. It is my understanding that the Health Department can allow closer distances to the septic field in circumstances such as these with special attention to avoid ground water contamination. What I will need to know is not only: Can the existing well be upgraded? But also: Is there a location to drill a new well if upgrading the existing well is not possible? You know better than I that there needs to be clearly documented evidence of need in order to satisfy our policy and not create precedent. It is difficult to deal with conjecture about the future of the septic system without all the facts about a well. You probably have the answers already, but they just don't show up here. I understand the urgency of the request and will support going to public hearing, but all this information will need to be available before the hearing. Thanks a lot. Charlotte Humphris 1
