RE: SDP202200037 UVA Riverside Parking Improvements Comment Response Letter
Dear Ms. Gleason:
We have reviewed your comments from October 14`h, 2022 and made the necessary revisions. Please
find our responses to the comments below in bold lettering.
1. [Comment] Floodplain
a. Rev 1:Thank you for clearly locating and labeling the floodplain area. The
linework for the floodplain area appears to drop off before reaching the edge
of the parcel boundary. Please provide this data up to its intersection with the
parcel boundary so that it is an enclosed area.
The floodplain linework has been extended to the edge of the parcel
boundary, creating an enclosed area.
2. [Comment] ADA Ramp.
a. Rev. 1: ADA regulations for the design for the proposed ramp in front of Building 2535
require handrails on both sides, a min. width of aft, and a 4 in. curb on the open side.
Please review and revise the plans as necessary.
After consultation with a County inspector, it was agreed that since this ramp
qualifies as a curb ramp and is not a true ADA building ramp, these requirements do
not apply in this situation.
3. [Comment] Limits of Disturbance.
a. Rev. 1: On sheets C2.1 & C2.2, revise the area measurement noted in the Limits of
Disturbance labels on the plan maps to identify the extent of each particular area,
instead of a combined total. This will add clarity to the plan and allow staff to confirm
that the total limits of disturbance noted is correct.
The limits of disturbance have been updated to reflect the area of each portion of
disturbance, such that the reviewer can confirm that the total limits of disturbance
noted is correct.
