Board of Supervisors Meeting of June 1, 2016

1. Call to Order.
• Meeting was called to order at 1:04 p.m. by
the Chair, Ms. Palmer. All BOS members
were present. Also present were Greg
Kamptner and Travis Morris.
4. Adoption of Final Agenda.
• Added discussion on Dominion Power's
Cunningham-Dooms Transmission Line
Rebuild project.
• By a vote of 6:0, ADOPTED the final agenda.
5. Brief Announcements by Board Members.
Ann Mallek:
• Announced that the paving on Earlysville
Road is moving fast and is more than half
complete.
• Announced that she and Supervisor Palmer
had attended the District 5 VACo Board
meeting.
Dlantha McKeel:
• Announced that she attended Albemarle High
School's graduation; and reminded everyone
that graduations were also being
livestreamed.
6. Proclamations and Recognitions:
a. Proclamation of Support for the Albemarle
Amateur Radio Club's Field Day Exercises.
• ADOPTED, by a vote of 6:0 and presented (Attachment 1) Link to video
to Michael Rein.
b. Government Finance Officers Association
(GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for
Excellence in Financial Reporting for FY15.
• Presented to Betty Burrell, Director of
Finance.
7. From the Public: Matters Not Listed for Public
Hearing on the Agenda.
• Barbara Cruickshank, County tax payer and
City resident, spoke on radio frequency
radiation as it relates to cell towers.
▪ Anne Tilney, Executive Director of
Apprenticeship Connections, spoke on
Apprenticeship Connections' apprenticeship
program.
• Jeff Werner, Piedmont Environmental Council
spoke on consent agenda item #8.15, Parcel
75-2 Development Rights.
• Neil Williamson, Free Enterprise Forum,
spoke on conservation easements and the
public public process in which the County
accepts them.
