Work shall be subject to inspection by Albemarle County Service Authority (ACSA) inspectors. The contractor will be responsible for notifying the properACSA ofFctals at the start of the work. 2. The location of existing utilities across the line of the proposed work are not necessarily shown on the plans and where shown are only approximately correct. The contractor shall, on his own initiative, locate all underground lines and structures, as necessary. 3. All materials and construction shall comply with the current edifion of the general water and sewer construction specifications, as adopted by the ACSA. 4. Datum for all elevations shown in national geodetic survey. 5. The contractor shall be responsible for notifying Miss Utility (1- 800 - 552 - 7001). 6. All water and sewer pipes shall ha ve a minimum of three (3) feet of cover measured from the top of pipe, over the centerline of pipe. This includes alit fire hydrant lines, service laterals and waterlines, etc. 7 Al water and sewer appurtenances are to be located outside of roadside ditches. 8. Valves on deadend lines shall be nodded to provide adequate restraint for the valve during a future extension of the line. 9. Trees are not permitted in the ACSA easement. 10. The contractor shall be responsible to comply with the no-lead regulation regarding brass fittings effective January 4, 2014 (senate bill 3874 which amends the safe drinking water act). UTILITY SEQUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION NOTE- CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT ACSA 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION TO ALLOW TIME TO NOTIFY THE APPROPRIATE CUSTOMERS. WATER LINE,• 1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BEGIN WATERLINE CONSTRUCTION WITH TEMPORARY SHUT -DOWN. CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE THIS 90° BEND A TAPPROXIMA TE STA. 0 +10 AND REPLACE IT WITHA TEE AND GATE VALVE. THE GATE VALVE SHALL BE PLACED AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS AND SHALL BE IN THE CLOSED POSITION. THE TEMPORARY SHUT DOWN CAN THEN BE STOPPED TO CONTINUE SERVICE TO EXISTING CUSTOMERS. 2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL THEN GRADE & INSTALL THE REMAINING WATERLINE UP TO, BUT NOT INCLUDING, THE CONNECTION TO: THE WATERLINEAT THE EXISTING 45° BEND, LOCATED APPROXIMA TEL YA T STA. 1+93. UPON COMPLETION OF THIS INSTALLATION THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PRESSURE TIEST, DISINFECT AND COLLECTA BACTERIA SAMPLE. 3. ONCE THE RECENTL Y INSTALLED PIPE PASSES ALL TESTS, THE WATERLINE SHALL AGAIN BE SHUT DOWN AND THE EXISTING 45° BLEND LOCATED APPROXIMA TEL YAT STA. 1 +93 SHALL BE REMOVED SO THE RECENTLY CONSTRUCTED WATERLINE CAN BE CONNECTED TO THE EXISTING WATERLINE. UPONV FINAL CONNECTION OF THE PROPOSED WATERLINE TO THE EXISTING WATERLINE THE GATE VALVES SHALL BE OPENED TO RESTORE SERVICE. 4. AFTER CONNECTIONS HAVE BEEN MADE AND THE WATERLINE IS OPERATIONAL, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FILL THE EXISTING WATERLINE BEING ABANDON WiTH FLOWABLE FILL AND CAP THE ENDS. SANITARY SEWER SEQUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION. I. CONTRACTOR SHALL GRADEAND INSTALL THE PROPOSED SANITARY SEWER PRIOR TO SHUTTING DOWN THE EXISTING SANITARY SEWER AND MAKING THE FINAL CONNECTIONS. 2. AFTER THE MAJORITY OF THE PROPOSED SANITARY SEWER AND MANHOLES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED & PASS INSPECTIONS, CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL A TEMPORARY PUMPAROUND IN DRY WEATHER TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INFLOW INTO THE OPEN MANHOLES AND TO MINIMIZE CONSTRUCTION ,TIME/EROSION.
