THESE CHANGES WILL BRING THE PEAK FLOW DOWN TO 9.24 CFS AND 16.19 CFS FOR THE 2-YR AND 10-YR STORMS, RESPECTIVELY. THIS WILL SATISFY THE DESIGN REQUIREMENTS FOR PEAK FLOW WITHOUT EXCESSIVELY DISRUPTING THE MATURE AND STABILIZED SWM FACILITY. ADDITIONALLY, THE PLANTINGS SPECIFIED IN THE APPROVED PLAN WERE NEVER INSTALLED. LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT, AMMY GEORGE, PERFORMED A SURVEY ON NOVEMBER 4, 2022, AND THE CONCLUSION OF HER ANALYSIS OF THE EXISTING PLANTINGS ON THE AQUATIC BENCH WAS THAT THE REMOVAL OF THE EXISTING PLANT COMMUNITY WOULD BE OVERLY DISRUPTIVE AND THAT IT WOULD TAKE YEARS FOR THE REPLACEMENT PLANTINGS TO BE A COMPARABLE SIZE AND DENSITY OF THE PLANT COMMUNITY THAT IS THERE NOW. IF THE INTENT OF REPLANTING THE AQUATIC BENCH IS TO FOLLOW THE ORIGINAL PLAN, TWO SPECIES FROM THE ORIGINAL PLANTING PLAN ARE ALREADY IN EXISTENCE ON THE AQUATIC BENCH: IRIS VIRGINICA (VIRGINIA BLUE FLAG) AND SPIRPUS VALIDUS (SOFT -STEM BULRUSH). ADDITIONALLY, THE IRIS PSEUDACORUS FROM THE APPROVED PLAN WOULD NOT AND COULD NOT BE PLANTED TODAY AS IT IS CONSIDERED A HIGHLY INVASIVE SPECIES ACCORDING TO THE VIRGINIA DCR.
