Special Use Permit Narrative
Project Proposal
The Landowner would like to request the ability to construct an off site tenant sign on Tax Map parcel
061 WO-02-00-002BO. The sign would benefit Tax Map Parcel 61 W-02-OA-1. The current proposal
shows a rendering and specifications of the sign to be installed.
Sign Specifications:
• Height: 6 feet
• Total Sign Face Area: 29 sf (sign ordinance 4.15.11)
• Wawa Lettering/Area: 17 sf
• Wawa Fuel Pricing: 12 sf
• Proposed overall Monument Sign Area: 36 sf (sign ordinance 4.15.11)
This application adheres to the purpose and intent of the sign ordinance section 4.15.1 section a, items 1-6
by:
• Providing wayfinding to the parcel served by the sign from a public street that has limited
visibility of the properties
• Using quality material's consistent with the structures in the new development
• Adding landscaping around the base
• Meeting all sign ordinance criteria for height, sign area, and physical location within private
property
• Using a subtle background sand color behind the lettering and limiting the amount of different
colors used
• Being located away from the right-of-way line as to not obstruct any line of sights when exiting
the development
The Special Use Permit would not adversely affect the adjacent lots as they are permitted their own
signage. The character of the zoning district will remain unchanged as each business located across from
the development also has a monument sign along their property's frontage.
