Newberry County of Albemarle Department of Community Development 401 McIntire Road Charlottesville, VA 22902 Re: SDP - 2013 -00040 Ivy Creek United Methodist Church Dear Mr. Newberry: We have completed the review of the subject project and offer the following comments: 1. It is unclear from the site plan the method for closing the existing entrances to the parcel. The areas of the existing entrances need to be reestablished with a good stand of grass. In addition, the shoulder roadside ditch will need to be graded as necessary to provide adequate drainage. 2. On sheet C3.1, it appears that the proposed landscaping encroaches onto the prescriptive right -of -way. The landscaping should be adjusted such that the landscaping is located outside of the right -of -way. 3. The work zone for this project needs to be set up based on the 2011 Virginia Work Area Protection Manual. TTC -5.0 would be the more appropriate work zone for this project than the flagging operation detail provided on the site plan. 4. The sight lines need to originate at a point that is 14.5' off the edge of pavement of Woodlands Road. 5. The site plan needs to be signed by the design engineer. If you need additional information concerning this project, please feel free to contact me. Sincerely, , kAt Troy Austin, P.E.
