We offer the following comments and questions: Critical Slopes Waiver Request 1. Will disturbance of these slopes help the site to be balanced? 2. Please provide a conceptual grading plan. 3. Some of the critical slopes are adjacent to the road and the roadside drainage ditch. How will you install erosion control facilities and prevent sediment from entering the road and the roadside ditch? Per VESCH 3.05, silt fence is to be installed at least 5 feet to 7 feet beyond the base of disturbed slopes with grades greater than 7%. Section 18-5.3.8.b.3 Waiver Requests 1. 18-5.3.8.b.3.(e) a. What minimum centerline curve radius are you proposing? b. What is your proposed design speed? c. Please reference the specific geometric design guidelines and tables in VDOT and AASHTO that you referenced in your narrative. 2. 18-5.3.8.b.3.(f) a. What is the reason for the smaller radius? There appears to be land available. Is it the grading or the setback? Please elaborate. b. Can a fire rescue vehicle turn around in your proposed layout?
