Our client, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation, is requesting a critical slope waiver to allow for placing the fill in two small valleys adjacent to the construction site. The grading plan and "before and after" illustrations show the placement of the fill. The grades will be no steeper than 3:1 in the fill area and the construction documents require the contractor to compact and place the fill to meet the requirements of the inspecting geotechnical engineer. With the exception of erosion control measures, that is the extent of development on these slopes. Therefore, we are asking the Planning Commission for a waiver to allow for this improvement to the slopes adjacent to the new bridge. Thank you for your consideration. Very truly yours, 1 Roxanne S.
