Brouse Rieley & Associates 200 East Market St Charlottesville, VA 22902 RE: ARB-P(SDP)2000-37 Thomas Jefferson Parkway Bridge Tax Map 78, Parcels 22 and 24A Dear Ms. Brouse: I have reviewed your revised plan (sheet SP-1, dated 4/99) with letter dated 9/28/00. The revisions included on the plan meet the conditions of ARB approval, as outlined in the meeting of September 5, 2000. You may consider this letter your Certificate of Appropriateness. Please remember that you also agreed to meet the following condition: 1. In the areas where existing vegetation will be removed, landscaping is required and shall match the character of that shown on the color perspective sketch and the model photograph. I look forward to seeing your landscape plan for these areas along Route 53. Please provide this drawing at your earliest convenience. Approval received from the Albemarle County Architectural Review Board is predicated on the fact that the design and materials, as proposed and exhibited for review, will be used. The acceptance of approval implies that the applicant has agreed to use the materials as indicated on the site plan, attachments and samples submitted. Any change in the approved design or materials will require an amendment to the plan and must be reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Waller, Planner County of Albemarle Department of Planning and Community Development 401 McIntire Road, Room 218 Charlottesville, VA 22902-4596 Dear Stephen: Enclosed are two copies of the site plan revised to include the tax map and parcel numbers. I have also added a note about the nature of the revegetation. In order to satisfy the requirements of the Architectural Review Board, the drawings also show a 2 '/2" caliper shade tree (a Sugar Maple), and the"evergreen shrubs" are identified as Abelia grandiflora as previously discussed with Margaret Pickart. I am waiting to re-submit the final erosion control plan until I receive a letter from the adjacent landowner permitting access to his property for erosion control officials. That, and providing an additional fee of$620 are the only outstanding items. As soon as I receive the letter, I will re-submit the plan. My understanding is that it is virtually approved. However, I hope that we do not have to wait for site plan approval and the certificate of appropriateness for the bridge construction. As I have mentioned, the bridge construction needs to move ahead, while the fill site will not be needed until next year. Thank you, again, for your help. Very truly yours, Roxanne S. rouse , Managing Landscape Architect SEP 9 2000 RSB:dr PLANNiNG AND Enclosures COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
