Rubinstein Date: 19 October 2007 Description: 1 division Site Description In a groundwater assessment done for the Albemarle County, ENSAT Corporation divided the county into `hydrologic units'. Below is ENSAT's description of the unit containing the parcel: The Piedmont Foothills unit is characterized by rolling upland to relatively steep topography. Soils within this area re dominated by the Hayesville, Ashe and Chester soil series which are moderately deep to deep, and generally well drained. These soils are found on the piedmont upland and foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountain on slopes ranging from 2-45%. According to the Virginia Department of Mineral Resources 1993 Map, the parcel is on the gneiss (Ybg) and biotite granite (Ygbt) of the Blue Ridge Basement Complex. The site is in the watershed of the North Fork of the Rivanna. Buffers According to the county GIS site, the county requires the maintanence of a buffer on the property around the pond and its outlet stream.' The parcel is in a public water supply watershed. 1 http: / /gisweb.albemarle.org/ 4 Water Quantity The Albemarle County Database shows 21 wells within half a mile of the lot. The wells range from 10 to 359 feet in depth with a mean depth of 188 feet. The well yields range from one to thirty gallons per minute with a mean yield of fifteen gallons per minute.
