Rubinstein Date: 22 October 2007 Description: 1 division — 2 lots Site Description In a groundwater assessment done for the Albemarle County, ENSAT Corporation divided the county into `hydrologic units'. Below is ENSAT's description of the unit containing the parcel: The Lynchburg unit is characterized by a relatively narrow band that trends in a northeast direction and includes a relatively long segment of the Mechums River valley. Soils within this unit are dominated by the Hazel and to a lesser extent by the Elioak and Glenelg soils. The Hazel soil series are moderately deep and well drained and are formed in the weathered products of metagreywacke sandstone and mica schist. Hazel soils lie on the uplands and their slopes range from 7- 45 %. The Elioak soil series are deep and well drained and are formed in the products of weathered micaeous metamorphic rock. Slopes of the Elioak range from 2 -25 %. The Glenelg soils are also deep and well drained and are formed in the weathered products of quartz mica schist. Slopes of the Glenelg range from 2 -45 %. According to the Virginia Department of Mineral Resources 1993 Map, the bedrock beneath most of the parcel is in the metasandstones of the Lynchburg Group (Zch). The site is in the Preddy Creek watershed. Buffers The parcel is not within a public water supply watershed nor is it in the buffer for a public water supply reservoir. According to the county GIS site, there are no required buffers within the parcel.' Water Quantity The Albemarle County Database shows fifteen wells within half a mile of the lot. The wells range from 74 to 305 feet in depth with a mean depth of 196 feet. The well yields range from zero to twenty gallons per minute with a mean yield of 7.2 gallons per minute. Water Quality As shown on the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) GIS website, there are no leaking underground storage tank sites (LUST) within 2000 feet of the parcel.2 1 http: / /gisweb.albemarle.org/ 2 http: // gisweb. deq .virginia.gov /deqims /viewer.htm ?SERVICE= VA_DEQ
