The Board approved the request, by a vote of 4:0, pending staff administrative approval of the following conditions: 1. Revise the drawings to indicate the proposed materials of both signs, the proposed colors and depth of the cabinet sign, the dimensions of the base, the brick type (to match building), the height of the face of the canopy, the type of illumination for the canopy sign, and the sign company name and drawing dates. Ensure that there is sufficient clear space above and below the helios on the canopy to avoid a cramped appearance for the sign. Indicate the amount of clear space on the drawing. 2. Revise the design and drawings to make the red, white and blue stripe opaque /non - illuminated. 3. Include a note on the sign drawings stating that the sign will be fitted with a dimmer that automatically shifts the intensity of the LED lights to 16% at dark. 4. Provide the measurements of the brick base on the drawing. Indicate on the drawing that the brick of the base will match the brick of the building. Coordinate the Photoshop image of the freestanding sign with the sign detail. Revise the sign drawing to include better, more accurate detail on the brick base. 5. A landscaping plan shall be shown of the existing conditions and existing landscaping to remain with administrative approval by staff in case the drawing shows less than adequate landscaping of low shrubs. The revised drawings you submitted on June 2 and June 16 include revisions that resolve these conditions of approval. Any change in the approved design or materials will require an amendment to the plan and must be reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1. This approval does not include any window signs. If window signs are proposed, a separate application must be made, reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board. 2. Please note that "opaque" means that light will not pass through the material. Consequently, the color of the background portion of the face of the sign will not be visible when the sign is internally illuminated at night. If you have any question about this requirement for an opaque background, do not proceed with the construction or installation of the sign until you have spoken with County staff. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
