Because the proposed sign will not be illuminated and otherwise meets ARB design guidelines, I am able to review this proposal administratively for the ARB. I have approved a sign of the design outlined below. You may consider this letter your Certificate of Appropriateness. FREESTANDING SIGN Type: Monument Materials: Aluminum base and acrylic panel. Mounting: Aluminum leg to slide into buried aluminum sleeve. Location: Southwest corner of site, adjacent to intersection of Rio Road East and Rio East Court. Overall Sign Size: 85" Wide x 86.5" High Panel Size: 85" Wide x 45" High x 7" Deep Text: "Charlottesville" "Veterinary Hospital" Colors: Background: white; text, graphics, border, and base: green (PMS 357PC). Graphic: Horizontal line with several small animal silhouettes bisecting sign panel. Illumination: None. Landscaping: 10 spirea around base of sign, 24" tall @ planting. This approval is predicated on the fact that the design and materials, as proposed and listed above, will be used. The acceptance of approval implies that the applicant has agreed to execute the design as indicated on the submittal items presented, and as listed above. Any changes in the approved sign or materials will require an amendment to the application and must be reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1. This approval does not include any window signs. If window signs are proposed, a separate application must be made, reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board.
