Water Quantity
The Albemarle County Database shows 21 wells within half a mile of the
lot. The wells range from 100 to 445 feet in depth with a median depth of
265 feet. The well yields range from zero to 70 gallons per minute with a
median yield of five gallons per minute. The well on lot B is listed as
having a yield of 70 gallons per minute and a depth of 305 feet.
Water Quality
As shown on the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) GIS
website, there are no leaking underground storage tank sites (LUST) within
a mile.'
Buffers
According to the county GIS site and as shown on the plat, there is required
buffer on the western corner of Lot A.2 The parcel is within the watershed
for the public water supply reservoir fed by Totier Creek.

Site Description
According to the Virginia Department of Mineral Resources 1993 Map, the
bedrock beneath the parcel is in the phyllite and schist of the Chandler
Formation (Cca).
In a groundwater assessment done for the Albemarle County, ENSAT
Corporation divided the county into `hydrologic units'. Below is ENSAT's
description of the Chandler Unit which contains the parcel:
Soils underlying the area are dominated by the Manteo and Nason
series. Manteo soils are shallow and somewhat excessively drained.
The Manteo soils are formed in the weathered products of sericitic
