COMMENTS
Planning — Rural Areas (Scott Clark):
I am working with Virginia Department of Health to determine if and how often the
water used on this site should be test for contamination from the adjacent MTBE spill at
GOCO. As soon as this is resolved, I will update you.
Planniniz — Groundwater (Josh Rubinstein)
The well completion report for the well on TMP 79 - 9 shows a yield of 15 gallons per
minute. At that rate, the 1000 gallons per day maximum use estimated by the Virginia
Department of Health would represent only 6.5% of the flow over the 17 hours per day
the present store operates. There is ample water to support the planned use. The small
percentage of the groundwater flow that the store will require would most likely neither
effect the speed and direction of the flow, nor the quantity of water available to the
neighbors. I recommend approval of this permit.
Current Development — Engineering (Glenn Brooks)
I understand the well has enough yield for the proposed use without impacts to adjacent
properties.
Sincerely,
Scott Clark
Senior Planner
