Preliminary comments from the following agencies, as applicable, are attached. Albemarle County Current Development: Albemarle County Planning Division Albemarle County Building Division Comments reflect information available at the time the development proposal was reviewed, and should not be considered final. However, the Site Review Committee has attempted to identify all issues pertaining to the approval of the proposed project. Please contact me at your earliest convenience if you have questions or require additional information. Sincerely, Joan McDowell Principal Planner, Rural Areas Attachments: Sit 1 Planning Division: The Planning Division has reviewed the proposed church expansion and has the following comments: The church expansion is not physically connected to the existing church. Please provide the following information: (a) Is the proposed building to mirror the existing building? (b) Materials to be used for the parking area (c) Access between buildings would be limited to approximately 2' in one area. What is the projection opposite the existing side stairs? (d) Provide existing uses in the church (e) Provide number of services, additional regularly scheduled activities (f) Does day-care / afterschool care take place in the church? Are there future plans for these activities? (g) Show location of cemetery on the plan (h) Will the sanctuary seating be stationary? The existing church structure fits well into this site. The additional building may compromise the rural character of this area. The existing church enjoys morning light coming into the east facing windows. With only a nine -foot separation, this light and air circulation would be compromised. Consideration of other locations, perhaps adjoining the existing structure, for the church addition should be considered. 2
