It appears that the CG -12 type C would be the more appropriate design for the curb ramps on this block because of the proposed utility /planting strip. All other comments have been adequately addressed. We are waiting on the turning movement diagrams to determine the adequacy of the proposed entrances off Wickham Place and Wickham Way. Subject: SDP 200 -00056 WICKHAM POND BLOCK 2 FINAL SITE PLAN SDP 200 -00056 WICKHAM POND BLOCK 2 FINAL SITE PLAN Mr. Jonathon Sharp, We have reviewed the above site plan and have the following comments: • The two CG -11 commercial entrances to the site have widths of only 24 ft. Since all the dumpsters for the site will be located in the underground parking garage, trash- pickup trucks must use these entrances. It is doubtful that these entrances can safely accommodate such single -unit (SU) trucks. We request that turning movement diagrams be submitted to show they can. • Profiles are needed for the two CG -11 commercial entrances to ensure that they have acceptable grades. • The pavement design for the commercial entrances should be provided. • What appears to be a loading dock is shown in the plans on the southwest corner of the site. For which vehicle has this loading area been design? A turning movement diagram needs to be shown. This loading area should be designed so that no vehicles on Wickham Way, a public road, need to back up into it. 10/8/2008 Page 2 of 2 The intersection sight distance for the entrance at Wickham Way requires a line of sight of 280 ft.; however, the plans show 100 ft. sight distance lines at this intersection. Indicate which VDOT standard is proposed for the sidewalk ramp at the intersection of Wickham Place and Wickham Way. The depth of the flow at the inlet should be given in Table 7 of sheet 7 to show that no overtopping of the curb occurs. If you have any questions regarding any of the above comments, please contact Joel DeNunzio or me. Thanks, A.J. Hamidi Tech III Charlottesville Residency, (434) 293 -0011 10/8/2008
