I spoke with Joel a few minutes ago specifically about the sightline profiles for the referenced intersections. He said that if the applicant is comfortable with the sight lines then no profile would be needed. (They were requesting the profiles in the email below, because typically when an applicant submits half of the profiles, there are issues with the ones submitted. The county does not have a problem with any of the entrance sight lines as shown on the plan dated 8 August.) Please direct the revisions of the plan addressing the requested changes to VDOT directly because it does not appear that the modifications will affect any of the county requirements for the entrances. Please contact Joel for any clarification of the comments and the resubmittal requirements VDOT may have (an entire set will likely not be necessary). Thanks, Phil From: Denunzio, Joel D., P.E. Thanks, Joel SDP - 2008 -016 Martha Jefferson Site Plan Phil Custer, We have reviewed the above plan and have the following comments: • Sheet no. C203 shows that three out the four entrances off Peter Jefferson Parkway have widths which are below the minimum requirement according to the VDOT Minimum Standards to State Highways. These entrances have widths of 28ft., 28ft., and 26ft while the minimum throat width is 30ft. • The site plan must include entrance profiles to demonstrate compliance with the CG -11 standard. • The preliminary road & drainage plans uses the name Willis Road while this site plan uses the name Willis Drive for the for the public highway east of the site. The name should be consistent. • Sheet no. C805 shows the sightline profiles for the entrances at station 16 +00, 24 +00, and 54 +00, but not for stations 29 +80, 32 +75, or 64 +80. file: //\\ cob- dts01 \CityViewLnk \Docs \2008 \SDP \SDP200800016 \VDOT Martha Jefferson ... 8/27/2008 Page 2 of 2 If you have any questions, please contact Joel DeNunzio at (434) 293 -0011 ext. 120.
