Yarrington, Thank your for your ARB sign application for the Armed Forces Career Center. Comprehensive Sign Design Guidelines have been established for signs that are to be located on this building. These sign guidelines were established during the review and approval of the building design. I have attached a copy of the approved sign guidelines. After completing a review of your sign proposal, it has been determined that your proposal does not meet all of the guidelines and therefore cannot be approved administratively as currently proposed. I have outlined below where the proposal and the Guidelines conflict. As per the approved Sign Guidelines, the approved sign types are: Letters mounted individually on the wall; or letters mounted individually on a panel, and the panel mounted to the wall. The proposal for channel letters on a raceway does not meet the guideline. As per the approved Sign Guidelines, the approved method of sign lighting is: Lighting for signs shall be limited to minimal building lighting (maximum 2 fixtures per sign) shining down on the letters. The proposed internal illumination of channel letters and the flag logo does not meet the guideline. As per the approved Sign Guidelines, the approved location for this sign is centered above the windows, not the windows and door together, as currently proposed. The completed Sign Review Checklist that accompanied your application indicates the need for a to scale drawing or photograph showing the sign in the brick sign panel (see attached checklist). This to scale drawing and/or photograph was not included in your application and is needed to verify that the proposal will fit the existing brick sign panel. In order to continue to review and approve this proposal administratively, you would need to revise the application to address the Guidelines and requirements mentioned above. Please let me know how you would like to proceed and do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions. Thanks, Brent Brent W.
