Box 1332 Charlottesville, VA 22902 RE: ARB2008 -00118 WW @ Avemore Tax Map 78B, Section 1, Parcel 1 Dear Mr. Von Storch, The Albemarle County Architectural Review Board reviewed the above noted item at its meeting on Monday, September 15, 2008 and took the following actions. Regarding Building #1: The Board approved the request, by a vote of 5:0, pending staff administrative approval of the following conditions: 1. No wall signs are included in this approval. 2. Correct the "east" and "west" labels on Sheet A2.3. Provide drawings with dimensions that are legible. 3. If a minor site plan amendment is required for the proposed change in building footprint, provide the amended plan to staff for review. The applicant should contact the Current Development Division for a determination on the need for an amendment. 4. The previously approved design for Building 2 is withdrawn. Revised elevations for Building 2 shall be submitted for review. Materials and colors for Building 2 shall be coordinated with Building 1. Regarding Building #2: The ARB made the following preliminary comments: 1. Multiple awning colors may be acceptable if the gable anchors are uniform in color. 2. The brick banding of Building 2 should be coordinated with the appearance of Building 1. 3. Provide a site plan showing the relationship of the buildings to the EC. To finalize the Building 1 proposal, please provide: 1. Two full sets of revised drawings addressing each of these conditions. Include updated ARB revision dates on each drawing and an ARB approval signature panel. 2. A memo including detailed responses indicating how each condition has been satisfied. If changes other than those requested have been made, identify those changes in the memo also. Highlighting the changes in the drawing with "clouding" or by other means will facilitate review and approval. 3. The attached "Revised Application Submittal" form. This form must be returned with your revisions to ensure proper tracking and distribution. When staff's review of this information indicates that all conditions of approval have been met, a Certificate of Appropriateness may be issued. To continue review of the Building 2 proposal, submit another ARB application with the standard submittal items and a memo indication how the Building 2 comments listed above have been addressed.
