General Review Comments
1. Please refer to the Design Standards Handbook on the county's website and provide updated notes
for General Construction, Streets, Erosion & Sediment Control, and Stomwater Management.
2. Please update all dates in the cover sheet to match all current submittals.
3. Please provide an updated topography with date and source information. Please refer to the county
website for an updated GIS map.
4. Please shade all areas that have slopes of 25% or greater.
5. Please provide a benchmark location on the plans.
Erosion & Sediment Control Plan Comments
6. Please remove the infiltration trenches from the E &S plans and replace them with sediment traps
or any other acceptable erosion & sediment control facility. Please refer to VESCH.
7. Please provide limits of clearing and grading encompassing all disturbances, entrances, staging
and parking areas, areas where sediment laden runoff will cross, or any construction related
activities.
Stormwater Management Plan Comments
8. Narrative refers to a SWM detention basin, but none is shown on the plans.
9. Please show the limits of the drainage area to the proposed stormwater management facilities and
sub -areas to the culverts.
10. Please provide details and calculations for the proposed infiltration trenches. Please refer to the
Virginia Stormwater Management Handbook, Vol. #1 for specific requirements.
11. A signed Stormwater Management Facility maintenance agreement and recordation fee will need
to be submitted. Please contact Pam Shifflett (x 3246) for questions regarding this procedure.

Road Plan Comments
12. VDOT approval is required for any plan affecting any public right -of -way. Comments will be
forwarded at the time they are received.
13. Please show and label all pipes and utility crossings.
14. All cross drain locations must be shown and labeled with VDOT designations (CD -1,2) at every
major cut and fill transition or sag curve.
15. Please show and label signs for traffic control: Speed limit on all streets, stop signs at all
intersections.
16. Please provide the minimum design speed for Satchels Place.
17. K- Values do not meet the minimum standards for a 35 MPH road.
