Because the freestanding sign has an opaque background and otherwise meets the EC Sign Guidelines, I am able to review this proposal administratively for the ARB. I have approved a sign of the design outlined below. You may consider this letter your Certificate of Appropriateness. FREESTANDING SIGN Quantity: 1 Type: Cabinet on a masonry base Materials: Aluminum cabinet, brick base Location: On the Berkmar Drive frontage, west of the entrance into the site, meeting required setbacks. Mounting: Pylon on a steel pole, pole in a concrete foundation, pole hidden by masonry base Cabinet Size: 7' 1" wide x 4' S" tall x F 8" deep Base Size: 7' 1" wide x 37" tall x 1' 8" deep Overall Sign Size: 7' 1" wide x 8' tall x F 8" deep Text: "NAPA AUTO PARTS" Colors: Letters: PMS 123C yellow Graphics: NAPA logo: PMS 2728C blue letters, PMS 280C dark blue cabinet return, PMS 123C yellow, white "Underscore" (brushstroke): PMS 185C red Base: Gray brick to match building Illumination: Internal fluorescent; only the letters illuminate, background is opaque This approval is predicated on the fact that the design and materials, as proposed and listed above, will be used. The acceptance of approval implies that the applicant has agreed to execute the design as indicated on the submittal items presented, and as listed above. Any changes in the approved sign or materials will require an amendment to the application and must be reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1. This approval does not include any window signs. If window signs are proposed, a separate application must be made, reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board. 2. This ARB approval is only one approval required prior to installing a sign. A sign permit is also required. If you have not already made an application for a sign permit, please contact the permit intake staff at 296 -5832 for requirements.
