RE: ARB2008 -00074 Crozet Station Phase I — Final; Tax Map 56A2, Section 1, Parcel 29
Dear Ms. Cooper,
I have reviewed your recent submittal for the above - referenced project, which included site plan sheets T1,
C1.0 -1.3, C2.0 -2.1, and 1-1.0 -1.3 dated 10/31/08; architectural sheets Al dated 2/16/08, A2 dated 7/25/08, A3-
6 and A8 dated 10/16/08, and A7 dated 7/7/08 and 7/25/08. 1 have the following comments.
1. Comment #4 from our 10/9/08 letter stated, "Replace the White Pines with an alternate appropriately
spaced evergreen." This change has not been made but is still required.
2. Comment #5 in our 10/9/08 letter stated: "Include the color of the shoebox fixtures in the schedule."
This change has not been made. Note that even if the default color is bronze, the fixture /pole color
should be included in the schedule.
3. Comment #5 in our 10/9/08 letter stated: "Coordinate the lighting plan with the elevations." This
change has not been made. Note that the photometric plan and the luminaire schedule show 19 wall
lights and the elevation sheet shows 22 wall lights. The locations on the architectural elevations are
coordinated with the architecture of the building, but they are not on the site plan. Coordinated
drawings are required.
4. Comment #8 in our 10/9/08 letter stated, "Add the following note to the site plan: `All chain link fencing
shall be removed and replaced with approved fencing by final zoning. "' A similar note has been added
to sheet C1.0, but the wording and arrow used refer only to the chain link along the frontage of the
site. The purpose of adding the note was to ensure that all chain link will be removed from the site.
Consequently, the plan must be revised to include the note as originally required. Ensure that the note
applies to all chain link on the site.
Please provide:
1. One full set of revised drawings addressing each of these conditions. Include updated ARB revision
dates on each drawing and an ARB approval signature panel.
2. A memo including detailed responses indicating how each condition has been satisfied. If changes
other than those requested have been made, identify those changes in the memo also. Highlighting
the changes in the drawing with "clouding" or by other means will facilitate review and approval.
3. The attached "Revised Application Submittal" form. This form must be returned with your revisions to
ensure proper tracking and distribution.
When staff's review of this information indicates that all conditions of approval have been met, a Certificate of
Appropriateness may be issued. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
