Date: 26 November 2008
Description: 1 division — 2 lots
Water Quantity
The Albemarle County Database shows 14 wells within half a mile of the

gpm. There is an agricultural well drilled in 2005 listed as 54 feet deep with
a yield of 5 gpm. In the southwest corner of the property there is an undated
well listed at 255 feet in depth and a yield of 6 gpm. The median yield for
the county is 7 gpm.
Water Quality
As shown on the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality GIS
website, there are no leaking underground storage tank sites within 2000 feet
of the parcel.
Buffers
According to the county GIS site, there is required buffer along the stream
shown on the map on the northern boundary of Parcel A.2 Most of the
property including Parcel A is in the Wards Creek watershed. The southern
portion of the property is in the Beaver Creek watershed. Both watersheds

Site Description
According to the Virginia Department of Mineral Resources 1993 Map, the
parcel is on the charnockite gneiss (Yc), pyroxene granulite (Ypg) and
mylonite (my) of the Blue Ridge Basement Complex.
In a groundwater assessment done for the Albemarle County, ENSAT
Corporation divided the county into `hydrologic units'. Below is ENSAT's
description of the unit containing the parcel:
The Piedmont Foothills unit is characterized by rolling upland to
relatively steep topography. Soils within this area re dominated by
the Hayesville, Ashe and Chester soil series which are moderately
deep to deep, and generally well drained. These soils are found on the
piedmont upland and foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountain on slopes
ranging from 2 -45 %.
