Rubinstein Date: 26 November 2008 Description: 1 division — 2 lots Water Quantity The Albemarle County Database shows 14 wells within half a mile of the lot. The wells range from 54 to 305 feet in depth with a median depth of 215 feet. The well yields range from 2 to 20 gallons per minute (gpm) with a median yield of 7.5 gpm. There are three wells in the database for TMP 41 — 44. The house well drilled in 1997 is listed as 165 feet deep with 7 gpm. There is an agricultural well drilled in 2005 listed as 54 feet deep with a yield of 5 gpm. In the southwest corner of the property there is an undated well listed at 255 feet in depth and a yield of 6 gpm. The median yield for the county is 7 gpm. Water Quality As shown on the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality GIS website, there are no leaking underground storage tank sites within 2000 feet of the parcel. Buffers According to the county GIS site, there is required buffer along the stream shown on the map on the northern boundary of Parcel A.2 Most of the property including Parcel A is in the Wards Creek watershed. The southern portion of the property is in the Beaver Creek watershed. Both watersheds contribute to the South Fork of the Rivanna reservoir, a public water supply. ' http:// gisweb. deq .virginia.gov /deqims /viewer.htm ?SERVICE= VA_DEQ 2 http: / /gisweb.albemarle.org/ Site Description According to the Virginia Department of Mineral Resources 1993 Map, the parcel is on the charnockite gneiss (Yc), pyroxene granulite (Ypg) and mylonite (my) of the Blue Ridge Basement Complex. In a groundwater assessment done for the Albemarle County, ENSAT Corporation divided the county into `hydrologic units'. Below is ENSAT's description of the unit containing the parcel: The Piedmont Foothills unit is characterized by rolling upland to relatively steep topography. Soils within this area re dominated by the Hayesville, Ashe and Chester soil series which are moderately deep to deep, and generally well drained. These soils are found on the piedmont upland and foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountain on slopes ranging from 2 -45 %.
