Project: SDP - 2008 - 00187, Martha Jefferson Hospital Minor Amendment

The minor amendment for Martha Jefferson Hospital Site plan, received on 29 December 2008, has been
reviewed. The plans can be approved after the following comments have been addressed.
1. This minor amendment cannot be approved until the pending variation is granted by the
Planning Department.
2. The parking spaces in the Northeast corner of lot G should be slightly reconfigured so the
island in the corner of the lot is 90 degrees or less so that backing out of the corner spaces is
not inconvenient.
3. In the paving plan, please specify a section or detail for the fire lane and stormwater access
path.
4. The grading of the western portion of lot J appears to direct a significant amount of water into
the travelway from Willis Road. It appears this section of the parking lot needs at least 1,
perhaps 2, more inlets to intercept the water before reaching the travelway. The travelway into
lot J should also be crowned.
5. There appears to be errant spot elevations on sheet C334 where a wall was removed.
6. On sheet C538, what does 100% Generic Default mean?
7. On sheet C538, there appears to be a few drainage areas missing in the table and a few of the
drainage areas of inlets shown are not accurate (inlets 5 and 7, for example). The drainage
area information on Sheet C803 appears to be more accurate.
8. Considering the designer- contractor feedback loop that has been established for the submittal
of this amendment, this point in the site plan process seems to be the appropriate time to
resolve the low maintenance, non - grassed groundcover issue. In the revised set, please specify
in the landscape and esc plans a low maintenance groundcover on all slopes steeper than 3:1.
9. The plan does not seem to include the necessary pedestrian pathways to the State Farm Blvd.
area or along Peter Jefferson Parkway, as shown on the approved ZMA plan. These pedestrian
paths should be provided on this site plan amendment so it can be in compliance with the
rezoning application plan.
