Amy - As I mentioned in our phone conversation, I was hoping to handle your sign proposal as an
administrative review, as opposed to taking it to the Architectural Review Board (ARB) for a full review
at their regularly scheduled March 2, 2009 meeting. I was having difficulty in completing my
administrative review due to the fact that the sign structure that would contain your tenant panel was not
reviewed and approved by the ARB. That sign structure preceded the Route 29N Entrance Corridor and
the ARB, both established in 1990. Yesterday, I showed your sign proposal, as an Other Business item,
to the Architectural Review Board to see if they would approve my handling this administratively and if
there were any revisions to your proposal that they would require. Their action, allowing my
administrative review with some conditions, is shown below in blue.
Comment 1, regarding tenant panels installed without permits, has no impact on your proposal. It
is an issue that arose during the discussion of your proposal.
The top panel color referenced in Comment 2 refers to the grey background color for the portion
of the sign containing the 1305 Seminole Plaza and Flaming Wok text

Regarding the tenant panel refacing, it was the consensus of the ARB that:
1. Staff should determine which tenant panels have been installed without permits.
2. The Dodson sign should be revised to have a background color that matches the top panel and to delete the
arrow.
