HomeMy WebLinkAboutARB200800178 Review Comments Miscellaneous Submittal 2009-01-20From: Margaret Maliszewski Sent: Tuesday, January 20, 2009 6:11 PM To: 'Greg Schwartz' Subject: Flow sign proposal Greg, I have a few comments and questions about your Flow sign proposal: Zoning has indicated that the number of proposed freestanding signs exceeds the quantity limit, that the proposed freestanding sign square footage exceeds the allowance, and that the proposed freestanding sign heights exceed the allowance. Consequently, these signs cannot be approved. The pylon style freestanding signs do not meet the EC Guidelines and cannot be approved by staff. Monument style signs can be approved by staff. It is recommended that any proposed freestanding signs be revised to a monument style. The drawings submitted with the ARB application do not include all of the information that the sign checklists require. Please consult the checklists and revise your drawings accordingly. A list of missing information follows. This list may not be complete. Please review the checklist carefully before re- submitting. o The VW clip drawing does not address proposed colors, color samples, materials, illumination type, areas of illumination, areas that are opaque, or depth of sign. o The Flow nameplate drawing does not indicate which portions of the sign will illuminate. Color samples were not provided. o The Audi cabinet drawing does not indicate which portions of the sign are to illuminate. Not all colors have been identified on the drawing. Samples have not been provided. Materials have not been identified. o The PMS 447C for the directional sign is identified as dark gray. Our Pantone color set identifies it as a dark green color. Is the number accurate? o Staff is not likely to approve the reflective surface for the directional sign. Revising to a non - reflective finish is recommended. The phrase "black vinyl with white keyline" on the drawings should be clarified. Your drawings say "concept only ". Please double -check that the designs you are proposing will fit within the sign bands that are available and eliminate the "concept only" note. What is the horizontal line above the Flow nameplate on the architectural elevation? Please provide a complete, updated submittal for review. Thanks. Margaret Margaret M.
