SDP - 2009 -007- Lewis & Clark- Final Site Plan
The Planner for the Zoning & Current Development Division of the Albemarle County
Department Community Development will recommend approve the plan referred to above when
the following items have been satisfactorily addressed. (The following comments are those that
have been identified at this time. Additional comments or conditions may be added or eliminated
based on further review.) [Each comment is preceded by the applicable reference to the
Albemarle County Code.]
1. [32.7.9.5 (b)] Wheel stops need to be provided to prevent damage to landscaping by
vehicles in all areas where there is landscaping adjacent to the parking area. Show the
wheel stops in all parking spaces that are adjacent to proposed landscaping.
2. [32.7.9.8 (a)] Show the detail for the screening fence around the dumpster. If the
screening fence is less than 6 feet in height, the vegetation around the dumpster must
meet the vegetative screening requirements. The vegetative screening strip shall be 20
feet in depth and consist of a double staggered row of evergreen trees or evergreen
shrubs.
3. [32.7.9] There is a tree shown in the proposed trail. Move the tree outside of the trail.
4. [32.7.9] Label the proposed building on the landscape plan.
5. [32.7.9] The following trees and shrubs are not on the County's recommended plant list,
revise to show plants that are in the recommended plant list: Maclura pomifera, Ilex
`Patriot', and Sambucus nigra `Gerda'.
6. [32.7.9] There is no quantity listed for St. John's Wart. Remove from plant schedule if
none are proposed.
7. [32.7.9] Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry's botanical name is Amelanchier x grandiflora
NOT Amelanchier canadensis. Correct this in the plant schedule.
8. [32.7.9.7 (b)] The amount of trees required for the parking is 1 per 10 parking spaces,
which equals 3.1 for the proposed 31 spaces. Therefore, 4 trees are required, you can not
round down. Revise this note to state that 4 trees are required.
9. [32.5.6 (b)] On sheet C2 it states that an amendment will be needed for Phase II, however
a final site plan will be required. Change all notes referring to an amendment for Phase II
to a final site plan.
10. [32.5.6 (b)] Revise the special use permit conditions on sheet C2 to the correct conditions
for SP2007 -024, as stated in the attached Board of Supervisors meeting minutes.
11. [32.5.6 (b)] In the Land Schedule on sheet C2 it states in the post development that there
will be 19,653 sf of building, however in the Phasing schedule on the same sheet and on
other sheets, it state 15,000 sf, clarify the square footage for the entire building.
