I'll get a plumbing plan together per Chief Baber's recommendation as soon as possible. Thanks for your help. As I interpret it, he will not approve the building permit with a driveway over 16% unless other measures are provided, such as a residential sprinkler system. If you choose to install the system, a plumbing permit application with design plans can be submitted to our office referencing the Building Permit application [B200701830SF] Please let me know if you plan to install the sprinkler system and if you have any other questions. I would like to ensure we have exhausted all options before allowing new construction where the only access grade is greater than sixteen percent (16 %), so if his choice is not to include a residential sprinkler, I would ask what he proposes as an acceptable alternative? I think it is appropriate to get all the answers from Mr. Yordy before issuing a building permit with these public safety issues unresolved. Please let me know if you have questions. We are holding up Mr. Yordy's building permit until it is determined if a sprinkler system is required. Thank you, Amy Pflaum Amy D. Mr. Yordy indicated in our meeting he understood the immediate need for emergency vehicle access and the difficulty caused by an access road with a slope of greater than sixteen percent. Because of the anticipated delay we discussed the installation of a residential sprinkler system as an acceptable alternative to re- aligning the roadway. Please let me know if you have additional questions. James F. I have a feeling he's digging out from being away. I'll copy him on this one above. Also -- can you tell me what the bond is all about? Is this something I have to pay, and if so, how much is it? All other comments have been addressed and a bond amount has been calculated. Please forward written confirmation from Chief Barber and I can approve the plans. Thank you, Amy D. Please consider this an approval request for the attached plan. As you suggested, I met with Fire Chief Barber (copied above) and discussed the existing driveway path to the top of the ridge. After review, Chief Barber agreed that the existing routing was optimal in case of emergency. Though not required, we also discussed the merits of home fire protection that are effective insurance for minimal extra cost (around 5K for my home, runs on domestic hot water). Chief Barber can you please confirm our conversation so Glenn has it for his records? Glenn /Amy -- please let us me know if there is any additional information you need to move this one forward. There is a chill in the air and we're anxious to get foundation /shell completed before bad weather. Anything you can do to move this one through would be very much appreciated. Best regards, Chris Yordy
