You may consider this letter your Certificate of Appropriateness for the Subway/Dairy Queen freestanding sign described below. FREESTANDING SIGN Type: Monument sign with internally illuminated cabinets Monument Materials: Brick monument on a brick base (NOTE: All visible faces of monument and base must be faced with brick) Monument Location: On west side of property, adjacent to parking lot and east side of Rt. 29 North Overall Monument Size: 5' wide x 10' 6" tall DQ Cabinet Materials: aluminum and polycarbonate Size: 27" tall x 4' wide Location: Centered left -to -right on monument below decorative brick band, brick band to remain fully visible Text: "DQ" Colors: Red (PMS 185) background, White (3630 -20) letters, orange (PMS 1375) and blue (PMS 300) accents ( "swishes "), brushed aluminum cabinet Illumination: Internal fluorescent, cabinet background must be opaque Subway Cabinet Size: 2' tall x 4' wide x 8" deep Location: Centered left -to -right on monument above decorative brick band, brick band to remain fully visible Text: SUBWAY Colors: Black background, Yellow (PMS 109) and white letters, black returns Graphics: Arrows extending from the "S" and the "Y" Illumination: Internal fluorescent, cabinet background must be opaque This approval is predicated on the fact that the design and materials, as proposed and listed above, will be used. The acceptance of approval implies that the applicant has agreed to execute the design as indicated on the submittal items presented, and as listed above. Any changes in the approved sign or materials will require an amendment to the application and must be reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board. This approval includes no window signs. PLEASE NOTE: "Opaque" means that light will not pass through the material. Consequently, the color of the background portion of the face of the sign will not be visible when the sign is internally illuminated at night. If you have any question about this requirement for an opaque background, do not proceed with the construction or installation of the sign until you have spoken with County staff.
