Outstanding issues that will need to be further addressed are shown in italics after the original
comment from the Action Letter of November 7, 2008.
Revise the cast stone to be more similar to the almond C73 mortar submitted. Revise the
building elevation drawings to clearly indicate the use of Lawrenceville Brick "Monticello"
for the building fagade.
Comments:
In this latest submission, the cast stone was not revised to be more similar to the Almond C73
mortar as outlined in the Action Letter. The applicant is still proposing the "Dark Buff
Limestone" previously reviewed. In this resubmission, the applicant is proposing to revise the
mortar type to Flamingo Brixment "Antique White". At the June 1, 2009 ARB meeting, staff
asked the Board for direction concerning this issue. In consensus, the ARB offered:
Regarding the mortar /cast stone color for Georgetown @ Hydraulic, it was the consensus
of the ARB that the proposed Flamingo Brixment "Antique White" could be approved
with the cast stone previously reviewed with the caveat that a sample panel be provided
on -site for final review. The applicant is further encouraged to consider lightening the
mortar color further to match the cast stone color more closely.
Recommendations:
Provide a sample panel of the proposed Lawrenceville Brick "Monticello" with the proposed
mortar Flamingo Brixment "Antique White" on -site for review and approval by the ARB..

Certificate of Appropriateness approval will not be issued until the Board has reviewed and
approved this on -site sample.
6. Revise the lighting plan to include the proposed lighting cut sheets, illustrating the fixture and
placement of the bulb, within the set of full size site plan/lighting plan drawings. Revise the
luminaire schedule to include the finish and color of all proposed light poles. Assuming they
are full cutoff fixtures, the Board prefers the ELA Georgetown over the Belle Chase fixture.
Comments:
On Sheets C4 and C4 -A in this latest submission, the applicant is proposing the use of ELA
brand Fixture B a lantern style fixture with a 100 watt metal halide bulb. This is not a full cut
off style fixture and therefore must be under the 3,000 lumens threshold that requires a full
cutoff fixture. A 40 watt metal halide bulb emits 3,000 lumens.
On Sheet C -4 "Lighting Plan" the lighting footcandle values shown along the Hydraulic
Road right -of -way exceed the 0.5 footcandle permitted at a public right -of -way.
A lighting cutsheet illustrating the appearance of the wall fixture proposed for the building
signage was not included with this submission.
Recommendations:
Revise the proposal by reducing the wattage of the ELA Fixture B, lantern style fixture, to
show the use of a bulb that emits less than 3,000 lumens or revise the fixture to one that is a
true full cutoff style. Revise the photometric plan to show a maximum 0.5 footcandle at the
Hydraulic and Georgetown rights -of -way. Revise Sheet C -4A "Lighting Cut Sheets" to
include a cutsheet that clearly illustrates the appearance of the proposed wall fixture for the
building signage.
8. Provide a sample of the brick pavers for review. Revise the drawings to confirm that pavers
will be dry set.
Comments:
Sheet C -2 "Existing Conditions and Final Site Plan" does not indicate if the 3 five foot wide
sidewalks leading to the building will be dry set.
Recommendations:
Revise Sheet C -2 "Existing Conditions and Final Site Plan" to indicate that the 3 five foot
wide sidewalks leading to the building will be dry set.
10. For a work session provide: rake details for the front entry gables and end gables; additional
detail for the tower, front and side elevations, including brick detail around the arched
window and circular louvered vents; window frame, sash and muntin details; along with any
trim surrounds anticipated for all openings. Confirm window and trim colors. Revise
proportions of cornice to reflect classical proportions. Coordinate the cornice details on Sheet
A6.
Comments:
The Action Letter of 1215108, following the 1211108 Work Session, states Sheets A3, A4. and
A6 with the latest revision date of November 25, 2008 and Sheet A8 dated November 25,
2008 can be approved. That revision date is not reflected on the drawings included in this
submission.
Recommendations:
Verify that the same drawings approved in the Work Session of 1211108 are included in this
submission. If they are, revise the revision dates listed to include the revision dates
referenced in the Action Letter of 1211108.
Please provide:
1. Two copies of revised drawings addressing the aforementioned comments.
2. A memo indicating specifically how the condition has been satisfied. If changes other
than those requested have been made, specifically identify those changes in the memo,
also. "Clouding" requested changes (information) will facilitate the review of your
submittal. All requested information is to be shown on the sheets in the site plan package.
3. The attached "Revised Application Submittal" form. This form must be returned with
your revisions to ensure proper tracking and distribution.
When staff s review of this information indicates that all conditions of approval have been met, a
Certificate of Appropriateness may be issued. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to
