Because the sign meets the ARB Design Guidelines, I am able to review this proposal administratively for the ARB. I have approved the sign of the design outlined below. You may consider this letter your Certificate of Appropriateness. FREESTANDING SIGN Type: Double sided pylon Materials: Aluminum, acrylic Overall Sign Size: 12' high x Y -81/4" wide (depth varies; wider towards building, narrower towards road) Upper Panel: Panel Size: 3' 13/4" high x 3' 81/4" wide Text: "Audi" 7" tall x 2' 31/4" long Colors: text: PMS 1788 Red; rings: chrome Graphics: 4 intertwined rings above the Audi letters; 11" tall x 3' 13/4" long Lower Panel: Panel Size: 3' 13/4" high x 3' 81/4" wide Text/Logo: V W in a circle; 2' 61/2" diam. Colors: PMS 294C Blue, and White Sign cabinet/background: PMS 877C Silver Location: 1313 Richmond Road, south side of Route 250 East, on the west side of the easternmost entrance into the Flow dealership Illumination: Daylight fluorescent illumination for text and logos; Audi rings are halo lit; background shall be opaque This approval is predicated on the fact that the design and materials, as proposed and listed above, will be used. The acceptance of approval implies that the applicant has agreed to execute the design as indicated on the submittal items presented, and as listed above. Any changes in the approved sign or materials will require an amendment to the application and must be reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: 1. Please note that "opaque" means that light will not pass through the material. Consequently, the color of the background portion of the face of the sign will not be visible when the sign is internally illuminated at night. If you have any question about this requirement for an opaque background, do not proceed with the construction or installation of the sign until you have spoken with County staff. 2. This approval does not include any window signs. If window signs are proposed, a separate application must be made, reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board.
