The changes made in these drawings address the outstanding conditions of ARB approval. You may consider this letter your Certificate of Appropriateness. This Certificate of Appropriateness includes ARB approval of the design criteria for wall signs for this building, as follows: a. Sign type: Reverse lit channel letters b. Illumination type: Internal LED c. Colors: Black faces, trim caps and returns d. Size limits: 18" letter height, max e. Locations: Centered over first story windows and doors f. Mounting: Raceway, raceway color to match wall surface g. Graphics/logos: Limited to 18" maximum height and black faces This Certificate of Appropriateness also includes ARB approval of the freestanding sign design, as follows: Type: Monument Materials: Acrylic letters mounted on slate, slate mounted on brick base (brick to match building: Old Virginia "Poplar Forest ") Location: West side of central pedestrian entrance to site Overall Sign Size: 3' 9 3/4" tall x 9' 11" long x 2' 3" deep Panel Size: 7' 11" long x 1' 4" tall Text: "Three Notch' d Center" Colors: Letters: Arctic white Graphic: None Illumination: None Please note that sign permits will still be required for all proposed signs and the final location of the freestanding sign will not be approved until the sign permit is applied for and approved. The approval for this Certificate of Appropriateness is predicated on the fact that the design and materials, as proposed and exhibited for review, will be used. The acceptance of approval implies that the applicant has agreed to execute the design as indicated on the site plan, attachments, materials, samples, and other submittal items presented. Any change in the approved design or materials will require an amendment to the plan and must be reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board. Please note the following: 1. This application is approved with the condition that mechanical equipment shall not be visible from the Entrance Corridor. 2. Changes made to the site or architectural plans after issuance of a Certificate of Appropriateness can delay the signing of mylars and the approval of building permits. It is in the applicant's best interest to notify ARB staff of such changes and to initiate the review of amendments to ARB- approved plans to avoid future delays. 3. This approval does not include any window signs. If window signs are proposed, a separate application must be made, reviewed and approved by the Architectural Review Board. 4. The level of illumination produced by the LED lights for the wall signs shall not exceed the level of illumination produced by a single stroke of 30 milliamp neon.
